E²Plan |
|
|
In April Techne Consulting announced the new product E2Plan (Environment and Energy Planning), a complete system for the environment and energy government developed by Techne Consulting.
The system was founded originally as a system aimed to study air pollution (AirSuite) and has evolved over the years towards a system for integrated assessment in different environmental media under the name EnviPlan.com .
E2Plan, whose release will be made at the end of year 2010 by Techne Consulting, extends the functionality of the system to the environment and energy government by managing and processing data and indicators, assessment models, pollutant diffusion, transport and transformation models.
Techne Consulting provides all the training and assistance to migrate data from old to new systems so to overcome the rigid schemes of outdated systems related to a specific environmental theme (such as the systems for estimating air pollutants emissions designed to end of the last century) and valorize data and information also to meet the latest regulations. |

TFEIP |

|
The annual meeting of UNECE Task Force on Emission Inventories and Projections (TFEIP) was held on May 10th and 11th 2010.
The TFEIP develops the EMEP emission inventory and provides a technical forum to harmonize emission factors, establish methodologies for the evaluation of emission data and projections and identify problems related to emission reporting. TFEIP is responsible for developing and maintaining the EMEP/EEA air pollutant emission inventory guidebook (formerly referred to as the EMEP CORINAIR emission inventory guidebook) used for the estimation of emissions and of the NFR (Nomenclature for reporting) and SNAP (Selected Nomenclature for Air Pollution). TFEIP has established five expert panels on priority areas; two panels on the cross-cutting issues review and projections and three sector panels: combustion and industry, Transport and Agriculture and Nature.
This meeting was attended by over 100 experts in the emission inventories from Europe and EECCA. Techne Consulting, with its technical director has participated actively in the work by submitting a report on Update of chapter navigation (Transport Expert Panel), a report on"Diffuse PM Emissions: Including Emissions from storage, handling and transport" (Expert Panel Combustion & Industry) and a report on non-industrial combustion plan: Pilot study conducted for SNAP 02 on the estimation of Consumption and Emissions (Combustion & Industry Expert Panel).
On May 12th, was held a joint meeting of TFEIP and the Task Force on Measurement and Modeling (TFMM). Also in this meeting Techne Consulting has been actively involved with his technical director, presenting a work about "Wood Burning and Other Uncertain PM Sources: Activity uncertainties in inventories and reporting" and work on A new way of looking at emission uncertainties. |
