6th meeting of the Expert Panel on Clean Air in Cities (EPCAC)
The 6th meeting online on 18-19 November 2025 of the Expert Panel on Clean Air in Cities (EPCAC) focused on discussing experiences in cities to improve their air quality and on how to comply with the EU ambient air quality directive (AAQD).
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss experiences in cities to improve their air quality and on how to comply with the EU ambient air quality directive (AAQD). There were presentations on: 1) developments related to Gothenburg Protocol revision and EU air quality directive, 2) progress in local air quality modelling methodologies and health impacts, and 3) experiences/plans/actions focused at cities in the EU, EECCA and non- UNECE countries.

Toscana Region - The new Air Quality Plan has been published
The resolution approving the Regional Plan for Ambient Air Quality (PRQA) of the Tuscany Region, accompanied by the related plan documents, was published in the Official Bulletin of the Region of 13 August 2025.
The Regional Air Quality Management Plan (PRQA) contributes to the implementation of the community strategies of "zero pollution", as well as representing the programming tool through which the Tuscany Region defines in an integrated manner the policies for improving the quality of ambient air.
The Plan was drawn up by the regional sector Circular Economy and Air Quality of the Tuscany Region with the collaboration of Techne Consulting.
Liguria Region - Air quality plan update
On January 30, 2025, with Council Resolution No. 67, the Region adopted the proposed update of the Regional Air Quality Management Plan (PRRTQA) , including the Environmental Report and the Non-Technical Summary..
The Plan received a positive assessment regarding environmental sustainability, with a reasoned opinion expressed in Director General Decree No. 4895 of July 1, 2025
The proposed update of the Plan was prepared by the Directorate General for Land Development and Protection, Infrastructure and Transport - Directorate General for Environment - Ecology Sector, in collaboration with ARPAL (Regional Environmental Protection Agency). The plan is supported by the results of the emissions inventory and emission scenarios prepared by Techne Consulting.
Kick off meeting AirLabò project
The launch event of the European Airlabò project of which Techne Consulting is a partner was held at Palazzo San Giorgio in Genoa on May 21st.
The project, its aims and partners were presented during the morning.

Veneto Region - Air quality plan update
With Resolution no. 377 of 15.05.2025, published in the Official Journal No. 56 of May 29, 2025, the Veneto Regional Council approved the update of the Regional Air Quality Management Plan (PRTRA). The PRTRA updates, strengthens, and systemizes the measures adopted over time by the Veneto Region to improve air quality.
The Plan was drafted with the technical support of ARPAV and the collaboration of Techne Consulting.
