Towards the end of the last century, the new focus on energy and environmental issues has stimulated the need to acquire as much information as possible on the environment with a concentration on monitoring.

In recent years, at least in the more advanced contexts, the scientific community has come to understand that with limited economic resources, attention should be focused towards the maximum exploitation of information, through the development of summary indicators and the use of models for the definition of intervention strategies.

In this context, it was developed an European level model for the representation of information called DPSIR (Driving Forces-Pressures-States-Impacts-Responses).

The Environment and Energy Management Systems can be broadly applied at local, regional and national level as well as in planning, Agenda 21, and in reporting on the state of the environment.

It is in this scenario that Techne Consulting develops its activities by integrating planning, preparing inventories, energy balances and registers, auditing, monitoring and training. For those activities Techne Consulting develops and uses models and specific software systems.
